Each Friday I pick a song–new, old, borrowed, blue–that’s been on my mind and in my ears, and write a short post about it.

The Misfits — “Where Eagles Dare”
The Misfits tear some pages out of the Ramones book of songwriting here, and there’s nothing wrong at all with that, but what I really love is the line, “I ain’t no goddamn son of a bitch”: it’s threatening, it’s menacing, but it’s also just a little bit vulnerable; Glenn Danzig is a bit miffed that somebody implied or assumed or told him straight out that he’s a goddamn son of a bitch. Because he ain’t one. Think about it, baby.
