Somesuch Stories has published an essay I wrote about traveling to Chicago for the 2016 World Series, which was something I promised my grandmother I would do with some money she sent me a few years ago. You can read the full essay here. The essay probably captures about 10% of my own full story and its emotions. I see it as a small piece of a very giant puzzle made by Cubs fans around the world, each of whom has a story–or several stories–to tell about what the phrase, “The Chicago Cubs have won the World Series” means to them.
Thanks to Suze Olbrich, who commissioned the essay, and expertly edited it as well.
